Sonoma, CaliforniaWe have the good fortune to have a client here in Dallas with a (not so secret) passion… WINE! They are such avid collectors that, when they remodeled their residence, they added a stunning wine tasting suite. Named best wine cellar in 2007 by Dallas Home Design, this wine tasting and storage suite began life as a humble garage. After the remodel, what emerged was a large wine tasting room walled to mimic the look of dry-stacked stone. An extraordinary chandelier, designed for the space by Cole Smith, FAIA, for Whitesmith & Company, Inc., lights the long tasting table. Adjacent is a climate controlled and highly organized wine cellar accessed through a heavy, lavishly decorated wooden door (also the stunning work of our friends at Whitesmith & Company).   Now, our dear clients are taking their love of wine a step further, and are building a house in Sonoma, California, and we are thrilled to be working with them once again. Construction is taking place on a hilltop and, once complete, the house will boast stunning views, comfortable interiors, and easy access to all the wonders of the California wine country.
